BABYMETAL is set to release a new album within the year. The highly anticipated third studio album, still untitled, will be the Japanese kawaii heavy metal girls’ first new set in three years, since METAL RESISTANCE in April 2016.
BABYMETAL, now a duo consisting of members Su-metal and Moametal after Yuimetal left the group in October 2018, also announced some domestic arena concerts ahead of the new album.
The “Distortion” pair will perform shows titled BABYMETAL AWAKENS – THE SUN ALSO RISES at the Yokohama Arena June 28 and 29, and ones called BABYMETAL ARISES – BEYOND THE MOON – LEGEND M at Port Messe Nagoya on July 6 and 7.

Fans will get early access to purchase tickets through BABYMETAL’s members’ site THE ONE. Details of the shows will be announced through their official website mid-April.
Last October, after becoming a duo, BABYMETAL released a new single, “Starlight,” and brought its highly acclaimed world tour production to Japanese audiences with two concerts each in Tokyo and Osaka. The girls then joined Judas Priest for a show in Singapore and appeared in Australia’s Good Things Festival 2018.
BABYMETAL will perform at Japan’s Summer Sonic 2019 music festival, set for Aug. 16-18.
