BABYMETAL toured the U.S. and Europe this earlier this year and entertained packed crowds with solid performances of their signature kawaii rock numbers. The girls have released a video performing their new song, “Distortion,” at Download Festival in Derby, England, the last stop of the European leg of the tour.
“Distortion” was released in May and heralded the new chapter of BABYMETAL’s backstory. The girls introduced a darker-themed, revamped stage production during their tour abroad, which was received favorably by local audiences.
The song will be released Nov. 23 worldwide on vinyl to coincide with Black Friday, and will include the version recorded live June 9 at the Download Festival — shown in the released video — along with the original studio version. The record is set for release in the U.S., Europe and Japan. The Japanese release will be a limited edition with different cover art.

Later this month, BABYMETAL will bring their world tour production to fans in Japan for two concerts each at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba and the Kobe World Memorial Hall in Hyogo. The group will also host its first festival-style event at the Saitama Super Arena on Oct. 28, featuring Swedish metal band Sabaton and Star Wars metal band Galactic Empire.
